Joseph L. Mathias IV
Joe Mathias established Concourse Capital Advisors, LLC in 2025 for the purpose of Sub-Advising Concourse Capital Focused Equity (CCFE). Previously he served as the Portfolio Manager for Concourse Capital Partners, L.P., a long-short equity fund from 2009 until 2024. Prior to Concourse, Mr. Mathias served as Vice President of Investments at GMT Capital, a multi-billion-dollar private investment company based in Atlanta, Georgia. While at GMT from 2002 to 2008, he was responsible for the Media, Technology, and Telecommunication sectors of the portfolio. Prior to GMT Capital, Mr. Mathias served as Vice President of Corporate Development for WebMD, Inc. from 1998 to 2001. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mathias worked extensively in private equity investments within the media sector. As the Founder and General Partner of Benchmark Communications L.P. from 1990 to 1997, he sourced, purchased, and managed 40 radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. The majority of Benchmark was sold to Capstar Broadcasting Partners, an affiliate of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, Inc. Mr. Mathias holds a FINRA Series 65 license. He earned his B.A. from Principia College and M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
